“This story marks a phase in my emotional life journey. Processing the situation personally inspired me to capture my feelings in pure sound and then in images. “LOVE HERTZ” was created using an Indian Shruti Box, a majestic pipe organ, a characteristic 50s pipe organ, and a Magnus chord organ, along with found footage.
Bio
Artist, composer, entertainer and professor Janek Schaefer was born in England in 1970 to Polish-Canadian parents. His work to date has focused on the multiple aspects of sound to explore new realms of sound, space and place – ranging from site-specific installations, sound sculptures, soundtracks for exhibitions and dance, albums and immersive performances in which he manipulates his self-built devices with found-sound collages. Schaefer has released more than 30 albums. His video projection for “LOVE HERTZ” was awarded Best Experimental Film by the Berlin Indie Film Festival in February 2024.
