Dear audience, dear guests,

Gelsenkirchen has had city rights for exactly 150 years now. For the longest time, our city has been known for industry, work, and football and thus for innovation, science, and cooperation. These virtues can also be found in art and culture, and I am delighted that the BLAUES RAUSCHEN festival with its electronic music and digital art is once again a guest in our anniversary year.

With Felicity Mangan, Cavid Dhen, Hannah Endrulat and Ra-Sunt V, we will experience artists on site who use very different stylistic means and instruments to explore the boundaries of sound and technology, open up surprising perspectives and make the hidden audible. They will transform the Ückendorf creative quarter into a multi-faceted acoustic laboratory in which urban spaces and digital art come together to create an extraordinary experience.

My heartfelt thanks go to all those who make this festival possible − the artists, the organizers and of course you, the audience, who are accompanying this journey into the unknown with curiosity and openness.

I wish you an inspiring festival in Gelsenkirchen and our neighbouring cities.
