Gida Labus invites us to improvise freely with objects and electronics. Using audio cassette recorders, controllers, max patches and samples, Labus is constantly searching for new possibilities for immersive journeys on organically polluted electronic fields. Gida Labus uses amplified vocal techniques for her spontaneous sound creations and playfully hacks synthetic voices.
Bio
Gida Labus is a musician, composer, video and performance artist whose work takes place at the interface of spontaneous perception and improvised electronic music. Gida’s current focus is on questioning anthropocentrism and human narrativity. Gida has been teaching video art at the Institute of Design and Media Art at the University of Pécs since 2016. Gida is part of the Budapest-based electronic improvisation trio Kamon Kardamom.
