The live interaction between sound, gestures, voice and visuals creates an immersive environment based on Klaus Obermaier’s many years of artistic research into the human body as an interface between the real and the virtual, as an object of constant redefinition and reinvention. In addition to live cameras, there are generative computer graphics that use various techniques such as physics simulations, manipulated 3D renderings, feedback loops etc. and react to gestures or sounds and noises of the electronic soundscapes. The latter integrate components such as virtual modular synthesizers, generative sounds, voice, etc. Many sounds and visuals are generated live on stage with specially developed controllers, body and voice.
Bio
For three decades, the interdisciplinary artist, director and composer Klaus Obermaier has been creating innovative works with new media in the fields of performance, dance, music and art that have been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. His intermedia performances and installations have been invited to festivals and theaters in Europe, Asia, North and South America and Australia. Many of his projects, such as D.A.V.E, APPARITION, LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS, DANCING HOUSE or EGO, are considered groundbreaking and genre-defining for the development of new artistic forms of human interaction with digital systems. He has been invited as a keynote speaker and lecturer to numerous international festivals, conferences and symposia.
