The last day of this year‘s festival brings us back to familiar areas of the city of Essen. In the Gitter Raum, Peter Kirn‘s Radical transducers await us: the open sound performance of this year‘s collaborative hacklab, in which a wide range of experts tested transformative forces of transformation over several days. Frictions between body and digitality, between communication and collaboration and sound. Karabasan Drane also create situations of uncanny familiarity. Hypnotic drone visions made of manipulated field recordings, synthesizers and lo-fi sound sources unsettle the Casa-Theater. With her project Advaita_, Chagall focuses on further frictions between body and virtuality. Live, she lets avatars dance with her motion- capture suit and sensor technology and performance find each other with MiMU Gloves. Finally, we follow Timo Hoogland‘s encounters with Mercury, a live coding between algorithmic language, code, basslines, sampling and dance music.
