A livecoded audiovisual performance. During the performance mathematical concepts are explored through sonic textures, patterns and structures. Mathematicians and philosophers have attempted and succeeded to capture the beauty of nature with the help of mathematics in sequences, recursive patterns and algorithms. The Fibonacci sequence converges to the golden ratio, the Pell numbers converge to the silver ratio, the remainders after division by an integer number results in the existence of periodic functions called Pisano periods. Many more lists of numbers are catalogued in the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. With total serialism techniques in livecoding the patterns in these sequences are explored and discovered musically. These sequences are used to generate melodies, harmonies and rhythms. A semi-improvised algorithmic composition as an ode to Leonardo of Pisa (posthumously known as Fibonacci), who introduced the Hindu-Arabic numeral system, the concept of Ziphirum (zero) and the fibonacci sequence in his book Liber Abaci in 1202.
