Dear festival visitors,
what does our present sound like? This is the question explored by the “BLAUES RAUSCHEN” festival in its eighth incarnation. Between electronic music, sound art, performance, as well as light and media art, spaces are created in which hearing can be experienced in a new and intense way.
The invited artists open up perspectives on an art form that is constantly evolving. Sound becomes a medium for exchange, a field for experimentation and an invitation to engage with the unfamiliar. The digital technologies that shape our everyday lives are showcased in all their creative potential.
The festival helps to once again showcase the Ruhr region as a diverse and dynamic cultural space by incorporating a variety of venues – from the domicil in Dortmund and the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr in Bochum to the Park der Sinne in Kaarst and the Alter Wartesaal in Herne. This creates a network that connects art, audiences and urban spaces.
“BLAUES RAUSCHEN” has been selected for funding by the jury of the “Neue Künste Ruhr” support programme – a further testament to the festival’s artistic quality and innovative spirit. The “Neue Künste Ruhr” programme, run by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, specifically supports new forms of artistic expression and provides them with sustainable opportunities for development in the Ruhr region.
My warmest thanks go to the association “open systems e.V.” for the conception and realisation of the festival, as well as to all the participating artists and partners who have made this special project possible.
I wish you all surprising auditory experiences and many memorable moments and encounters at the “BLAUES RAUSCHEN” festival.
