Dear visitors,

The BLAUES RAUSCHEN Festival has, for many years, established itself as an essential element of the cultural calendar in Gelsenkirchen. This year, once again, it impressively demonstrates how vibrant, experimental, and forward-thinking both art and music are thoughtfully conceived and meticulously realized within our region. Such impulses contribute to the Ruhr area’s reputation as a place of cultural transformation, continually reinventing itself in countless ways.

Few locations in Gelsenkirchen embody this transformation more profoundly than the Kreativquartier Ückendorf, which is once again opening its doors to BLAUES RAUSCHEN. Art, creativity, and the urban scene collectively foster spaces for meaningful encounters, exchange, and development. This requires considerable commitment, courage, and reliable partnerships, exemplified by a festival such as BLAUES RAUSCHEN, which likewise creates opportunities for new ideas, interactions, and artistic experimentation.

It is with great pleasure that I announce Gelsenkirchen as a venue for the sound art production “cycle and recycle” in 2026. This production addresses fundamental questions of our era: the management of resources, cycles of material and sound, and the transformation of existing elements into new creations. The project stands as a prime example of what distinguishes both the festival and the Kreativquartier Ückendorf – the synthesis of aesthetic innovation and societal relevance.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all individuals whose dedication, creativity, and commitment render this festival possible. To you, esteemed guests, I extend my best wishes for inspiring impressions, remarkable sonic experiences, and a multitude of new perspectives.
