Dear friends of BLAUES RAUSCHEN,

As Head of the Cultural Affairs Department for the City of Bochum, I am delighted to welcome you to the BLAUES RAUSCHEN festival.

With its unique blend of electronic music, media art and social issues, BLAUES RAUSCHEN represents a vibrant, forward-looking cultural landscape – here in Bochum and throughout the Ruhr region. The festival creates spaces for artistic experimentation while also opening up dialogue between the analogue and digital world.

Special thanks this year go to the close collaboration with the Bochum Music School and the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr – a place of encounter, musical education and collaboration between a wide variety of performers. Here, professional ensembles, up-and-coming talents and experimental formats come together. It is such collaborations that show: Culture arises from exchange.

BLAUES RAUSCHEN consistently pursues this idea. With its international focus, the festival brings together artists from different countries and opens up perspectives beyond local and national borders. It demonstrates just how deeply the independent scene of the Ruhr region is embedded in global discourses – and how it actively shapes them.

I warmly invite you to discover the diversity of this festival, to be inspired, and to rediscover the special venues of Bochum’s cultural landscape.

My thanks go to everyone involved in making this festival possible, and to you, the audience, whose openness and curiosity keep cultural exchange alive.

 Welcome to BLAUES RAUSCHEN!
