‘Schwellenzustand’ (Threshold State) is an electroacoustic project developed exclusively for BLAUES RAUSCHEN that allows sound to be experienced as an unstable structure. Between expectation and loss of control, levels of perception shift, dense structures collapse, and seemingly solid layers begin to move. Physical resonance and compositional order exist in productive tension. The piece works with condensation, repetition and deliberate breaks, creating a state between concentration and irritation in which stability always appears only temporary.

Verena Hentschel is an electronic composer and visual artist. Her works combine electronic sounds and structures, experimental club aesthetics and audiovisual setups. Using field recordings, repetitive patterns and sonic transformations, she develops precisely structured sound architectures that operate between physical intensity and conceptual clarity.
