Tarik Haskić
- A Cycle of Tunings
Tarik Haskić is a Slovenia based sound artist whose practice moves between field recording, site specific listening, and experimental sonic forms, grounded in an understanding of listening as an epistemological and cybernetic process shaped by feedback and interaction. For the BLAUES RAUSCHEN festival, he develops „A Cycle of Tunings”, a composition in which an organ pipe, activated through breath as a sounding body, encounters the DIY synthesizer Fourses Zi Hai, a handmade instrument by Peter Blasser of Ciat-Lonbarde and a DIY Tocante Studworth Phasi. Using Ciat Lonbarde paper circuits and the organ pipe as an open system of modulation, drift, and response, the performance unfolds through instability, resonance, and mutual influence. The instruments operate as non hierarchical assemblages in which control is distributed across circuit, gesture, and environment. Sound emerges through interaction rather than control. Touch functions as modulation within a feedback field, while gesture reorganizes system relations and instability, chance, and error become compositional conditions. The performer is embedded within the circuitry, producing and being produced by signal flow, as acoustic space continuously feeds back into the system. In this way, “Resonance in the Open Space Between Breath and Algorithm” becomes audible as a dynamic field between human gesture and autonomous sonic behavior, where body, instrument, and environment form a continuously shifting relation without a central control point.
“Listening Circuits” is the artistic practice of Tarik Haskić (b. 1994, Koper), operating at the intersection of listening practices, instrument design, and free improvisation. His work has been presented in experimental radio contexts, site specific performances, and collaborative sound environments. He understands listening as a relational process shaped by feedback, perception, and environment. Tarik Haskić holds a BA in Rehabilitation from the University of Zagreb (2016) and an MA in Sound Arts from the University of the Arts London, London College of Communication (2019), and is currently engaged in studies in cybernetics and systemic psychotherapy.
