Microscopies of the infinite

The Makroscope, an independent art space in the centre of Mülheim an der Ruhr, stands for concentrated formats that bridge sound art, performance and experimental music. The proximity between stage and audience creates a direct, intense situation.

The evening combines three works that deal with vulnerability, identity and technological penetration from different perspectives. The focus is not on the spectacular, but on the fragile: the body as a resonance chamber, the voice as malleable material, the sea as a projection surface for memory and the dissolution of boundaries.

Microscopic processes and vast sound spaces intertwine. Organic structures, cloned instruments, modular synthesis and projections shift the scales from the intimate to the atmospheric.

The works of Steffi Weismann, Lisa L. Zwinzscher x Neasa Ní Bhriain and Dana Schechter x Monocube open up a shared resonance space in which body, technology and environment can be experienced as a dynamic relationship. The concert evening thus becomes an examination of our present: wide awake, multi-layered and carried by inner tension.
