For BLAUES RAUSCHEN, Tbilisi-based Yana Selezneva promises a sonic journey of discovery into both inner and outer worlds. For her, her DJ set represents a profound self-analysis that combines themes of inwardness and the psyche with reflections on global political issues.  

Sonically, she is close to the brutalist tones of techno, which she expands and refines with modern, multi-layered drum settings and rhythms. Her DJ sets thus become spaces of possibility for communal catharsis and reflection on personal experiences of pain.

Yana Selezneva is a visual artist, but primarily a musician and DJ. In this sense, she explores the intersections of visual and auditory experience that make up club music. Selezneva mixes contrasting rhythms and produces disruptions to evoke strong emotions and provoke deep introspection. Themes such as the human condition, collective psychological experiences, the so-called dark side of human existence and global political issues form the metatext for her DJ sets.
