Jessica Ekomane

At the BLAUES RAUSCHEN festival, Berlin-based producer Jessica Ekomane will transform the space into an oscillating field of impulses, distortions and subcutaneous vibrations. Her internationally acclaimed four-channel performances play with phase shifts and acoustic illusions that constantly readjust and challenge the ear. Here, rhythm and structure regularly melt into a viscous mass, break apart and rebuild themselves − a physical and meditative experience that puts the audience in a state between focused attention and hypnotic dissolution.

Jessica Ekomane works at the interfaces of sound, space and perception. Her compositions dissect rhythmic structures and transform them into new contexts in which minimalism meets psychoacoustic illusion. With a deep sense for dynamics and contrast, she creates multi-dimensional sound spaces that move between digital rigour and organic fluidity. As one of the most exciting voices in experimental electronic music of our time, she explores how sound shapes collective and individual perceptions. Listening to her piece Solid of a Revolution from the album Multifocal opens up new social and political possibilities − what more can you hope for from music?
