Hany Tea x Amuleto Manuela
- When I cover my ears
hany tea is an interdisciplinary artist exploring how memory is preserved and transmitted through sonic practices. Drawn to the creative tension within misunderstanding and multivocality, hany tea uses both analog instruments and electronic tools to experiment with voice and sound as spaces of resistance, care, and transformation.
Amuleto Manuela is a Berlin-based sound artist, DJ and cultural worker. In her work, she combines narrative and sonic elements to create personal, political listening experiences. Her sound art revolves around memory, diaspora and the unlearning of hierarchies. As a DJ, she combines Afro-Latin funk, soul, disco and cumbia into grooving sets with a focus on vinyl.
hany tea and Amuleto Manuela’s live performance When I cover my ears at BLAUES RAUSCHEN centers human multivocalities within sonically polluted environments. Weaving together field recordings, spoken word, and improvisation across digital and acoustic instruments, they reflect on themes of oppression while channelling vocal and rhythmic spaces of possibilities. Silence becomes a resonant question within this interplay – a space of tension for listening, refusal, and enunciation.
