Echoes is a concert installation by Sicilian Francesca Guccione that penetrates the depths of human communication through bold sonic explorations. The performance shown at BLAUES RAUSCHEN, comprises an original suite for violin, synthesizer and audio samples, in which the spoken word takes centre stage. Selected volunteers from the audience read texts using wireless microphones distributed around the venue, creating a vocal noise that blends seamlessly into the soundscape. Both natural and processed voices are transformed in real time and merge with violin melodies and synthesizer textures by Francesca Guccione. This interweaving of modified and pure voices creates an immersive, innovative listening experience.

The Sicilian uses the means of classical music − she completed her violin and composition studies with top marks − but combines them with experimental approaches and electronic sounds. She creates further alienation through atypical improvisation and interdisciplinary collaboration with musicians from other genres. Guccione describes the result of these hybridizations as ‘alternative classical music’. She released two highly acclaimed LPs in 2021 and 2024: Muqataea and The Geometry of Time.
