She enmeshes us in a very special web: Miki Yui – the Japanese artist and composer weaves samples, noises, field recordings and electronic sounds from solar synthesizers into a fragile, minimalist organic soundscape with abstract and narrative power. Her music plays with the subtle perception of the listener, allowing spaces and images to emerge and unfold in the mind. For BLAUES RAUSCHEN, Miki Yui will be preparing a new immersive set with digital sampler, synthesizers and solar oscillators – a sprawling flow of subtle and dynamic, deeply hypnotic music made up of electronic sounds, field recordings and – last not least – noise.
Miki Yui comes from Tokyo, but lives and works in Düsseldorf. Influenced by her sound art and electronic collaborations with Klaus Dinger, Rolf Julius and Carl Stone, among others, she works as a soloist with drawings, installation, music and performance. Her six albums to date, as well as numerous exhibitions and concerts in Europe and Asia, demonstrate her ambition to show the extent to which nature and technology can be connected and interdependent in art.
