Currents between body, technology and environment

The Alter Wartesaal at Herne train station is one of the Ruhr area’s most distinctive venues for experimental music. The historic space provides a focused listening environment in which sound, space, and perception can unfold directly.

With projects by Robin Moedder x Thomas Machoczek, Farzané, and Molly Joyce, this evening brings together three artistic works that examine transformation and interactions between humans, technology, and the environment from different perspectives.

What they have in common is an interest in dynamic systems and unstable states. Water, learning machines, and technical extensions of the body become starting points for sonic processes in which physical, digital, and bodily levels interact.

The result is an evening that brings together ecological dynamics, artificial intelligence, and physical experience. The works show different ways in which artistic practice today moves between technology, the environment, and embodied knowledge, thus touching on central questions of current international sound art.
