Dear friends of "Blaues Rauschen",

following its premiere in 2017, the city of Bochum will be offering the festival "Blaues Rauschen" in conjunction with the other Ruhrgebiet cities of Dortmund, Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Herne an exceptional platform at designated venues for art production and presentation.

Different product formats address the question of how far technical innovations, artistic and political processes mutually depend and influence each other. At the same time, a special view is to be directed to how and with which means of analogue and in particular digital art production artists react to such developments.

I am delighted that the concert evening on 14th October at the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr will be the culmination of this exciting five-day festival, a place that invites you to adventure, education and enjoyment and gives impetus to urban and regional cultural life.

The festival program will invite the visitors to a multimedia sound journey with an extraordinary experience and cognitive value in a mixture of contemporary electronic music, sound and video collages and futuristic electronic dance music.

For years now, the city of Bochum has been promoting new and contemporary music as well as genre-spanning, new and forward-looking art and cultural formats. The "Blaues Rauschen" festival is thus wonderfully in line with the "Ruhr Jazz Festival" and the concert series "Soundtrips NRW" and "Klangbilder", which have been established at the Kunstmuseum Bochum for quite some time.

I wish this multi-urban festival a lot of success this year and its high-class program a positive response.

Special thanks to the organizers of open systems e.V., the sponsors and all those who will participate in the preparation for our region.
